Leadership Philosophy

Introduction

As stated by Miner (2015) leadership is an important skill that helps the organisation to move towards a certain direction. Is one of the reason why the skills of leadership is an important skill that needs to be considered for the growth and the development of an organisation. 

1. Describe the philosophy of leadership in the organization chosen. 

There is a huge impact on the performance of an organisation based on the leadership style. The philosophy of leadership has a very strong impact on an organisation. With a specific philosophy of a leadership it is possible to give a proper direction to an organisation. As stated by Tiab & Donaldson (2015) the philosophy of leadership is the pillar of an organisation and helps in leading the organisation to the path of success or failure. The leadership philosophy can be stated as the sentiment or the emotion that leads the organisation to perform and function in a specific direction. The organisation that has been chosen for the purpose of analysis of the philosophy of leadership is Aldi. Aldi is one of the largest retailing brands in UK and the philosophy of the leadership of the company is based on the factors of envisioning the company to be one of the leading companies in the retail sector of the world. This is one of the important aspect for the company as the philosophy of the company is based on the aspects of leading the company to be one of the leaders in the worlds. As stated by Tourish (2014) when the motive of the company is based upon vision then the company is capable of nurturing great leaders who would lead the company to the heights of success in the long run. The philosophy of the company is based on the vision to grow and when the leaders in the company align themselves to the vision it becomes possible for the company to nurture the best of the leaders that would take the company to the new direction. 

2. Assess the core leadership skills utilized within the chosen organization. 

The leadership skill that is being utilised by Aldi is based on the Visionary leadership style. The visionary style of the leadership is based on the factors of leadership that focuses upon the aspects of leadership which has a shared vision. This is one of the ways the mission and the vision of the company is being communicated to each and every employee of the company. The employee of the company functions in the way that the company is capable of growing as a leader. As stated by Jones et al. (2014) the visionary form of leadership is the type of leadership that leads the leaders of the company to head towards the direction of success. This form of leadership allows the employees of the company to enhance the innovative skills and contribute to the company. This is one form of leadership that enhances the professional development along with the personal development of the company. This form of leadership allows the leaders to take calculated risk that allows the employees to take their own decision. This form of leadership is based on the factors of reliability and ensures the employees that they are being trusted with their decision. When it comes to the company like Aldi the vision of the company to be among the leaders in the world market makes them follow the philosophy of leadership which is based on the aspects of trust and encouragement. As stated by Leigh & Blakely (2016) the factors of trust and encouragement are important for the growth of employee and this can be achieved with a leader who are capable of envisioning the fact that they can nurture future leaders. This is one of the ways through which the visionary leadership are capable of bringing in new direction to the employee and the company itself. 

3. Reflect on a personal style of leadership.

My philosophy of leadership is Affinitive in nature. I believe in the fact that to accomplish certain task it is important to have a team performing in harmony. As stated by Henry et al. (2015) no growth is possible with a team creating chaos within themselves. I believe in the fact that to reach a certain goal it is the team work which is necessary and I personally refaced on the encouragement of a team rather than taking individual decision. This is one of the reason why in my philosophy of leadership it is always important to hold dialogues to ensure the fact that the is capable of delivering the best of the product or the services which it intends to do. However, I have also learned the importance of Visionary leaders from the study and I will also tend to reflect on the same.  

Conclusion 

The skills of leadership is important not only for the development of an organisation but also leading to the personal growth. This functioning of leaders in an organisation helps in identifying the importance of leaders in an organisation.
